Familie: Julian McMahon was the second of three children born to Sir William and Lady Sonia McMahon. The late Sir William was the former Prime Minister of Australia. Julian studied law at the University of Sydney, but he became bored after one year and began a career in modeling, working primarily in commercials. In 1987, he headed began print modeling assignments in Los Angeles, New York, Milan, Rome and Paris. His appearance in a TV commercial promoting jeans in his home country made him popular enough to be cast as the lead in "The Power, the Passion" (1989), an Australian "Dynasty"-like series. After 18 months on the series, he starred in "Home and Away" (1988), another successful series, where he won a best actor award from a national magazine.

McMahon later performed on stage, appearing in a musical version of "Home and Away" in Britain as well as in "Love Letters" in Sydney and Melbourne. After a lead role in the feature film Wet and Wild Summer! (1992) with Elliott Gould, he went to Hollywood to read for American projects. In 1992, he was cast as Ian Rain on NBC's daytime drama "Another World" (1964). After two years, he left to appear in several plays in Los Angeles. He also appeared in the feature film Magenta (1996) before landing a role on "Profiler" (1996).

In his free time, McMahon enjoys surfing, biking, and cooking. He is a fan of baseball, football and basketball, and he collects classic books.

Julian McMahon was born in Sydney, Australia. He was the son of former Australian Prim Minister William Mcmohan. His wife was also a therapist by occupation and a huge fashion icon in those days. After graduating from Sydney Grammar school he went on to study Law in University of Sydney and Economics at University of Wollongong. Though he seemed to be a scholarly person but his main interest was in modeling and acting.

Besides his work as a fashion model, he also acted as a soldier Ben Lucini in an Australian soap "Home and Away". He was also the part of the "Home and away" group that toured UK in 1991. He was later also casted in the movie Wet and Wild Summer in 1992 and along that he also appeared in Danii Minogue's music video in 1993 called "This is It" and "This is the Way". He first got his entry into American TV from the soap opera "Another World" He was also casted in Movie Magenta in 1996.

Julian McMahon has successful to play the role of Agent John Grant in the NBC Drama in all the four seasons from 1996 to 2000. After 2000 he acted in the WB's show charmed playing as Cole Turner from 2000 to 2003. After doing so many characters in different shows he them joined FX series Nip/Tuck as a playboy plastic surgeon. Julian was also part of the blockbuster movie Fantastic Four where he played the role of Doctor Doom. He was also considered for the role of James bond in Casino Royale but the role was later granted to Daniel Craig. But he got the opportunity to cast against Sandra Bullock in thriller movie Preminition in 2007.

Julian married twice but he had to divorce with both of them. He was also allegedly linked with to Shane Doherty whom he co-starred in Charmed. His Charismatic charm and his wonderful delight made all of the American audience his fan.
